The Lab for global, data-driven research on entrepreneurship β built for academics, operators, investors, and policy-makers.
The Chicago Booth Entrepreneurship Research Lab (the βLabβ) is a new global hub for data-driven research on entrepreneurship, venture capital, and private equity. Founded in 2025 and based at the University of Chicago, the Lab supports faculty, students, and collaborators in generating rigorous academic insights that inform real-world entrepreneurial practice. We combine proprietary datasets, original surveys and experiments, and global partnerships to study how startups are built, financed, and scaled β and what drives successful ecosystems. Our work is designed to serve scholars, founders, investors, and policymakers alike.
